Location

The Institute of Physical Chemistry (PC) is located at Greinstraße 4-6, close to the Uni-Center (a huge building visible from most parts of Cologne). Inside the building of the chemical institutes are phones at which you can dial the four digit number of the person you want to visit.

By Train

You arrive at Cologne central station (Hauptbahnhof). Go to the main exit and follow the signs to the underground station. Take line 18 direction Bonn or Brühl. Get off the train at the station Eifelwall or Weißhausstraße. 

By Plane

You arrive at the airport Köln-Bonn. Take the S-Bahn S13 to the central station (Hauptbahnhof) and follow the description above.

By Car

Coming from Aachen:

  • Leave the autobahn A4 (direction Olpe) at exit Klettenberg (11a).
  • Follow the B265 (Luxemburger Strasse) to Cologne for approx. 4 km which will bring you directly to the Institute of Physical Chemistry.
  • Turn left into Greinstraße. In this street you will also find parking possibilities. 

Coming from Oberhausen/Düsseldorf Airport:

  • Leave the Autobahn A3 (direction Frankfurt) at Kreuz Köln-Ost (27) using the exit Olpe/Gummersbach/Köln-Zentrum, Deutz.
  • Use the right lane of the exit towards Köln-Zentrum, Deutz.
  • Take the exit Deutz/Köln-Arena/Fachhochschule/Polizeipräsidum.
  • Follow the signs to the Fachhochschule leading you to the Deutzer Ring.
  • Follow the Deutzer Ring to the Severinsbrücke.
  • After crossing the bridge, follow the street towards Barbarossaplatz.
  • Approaching Barbarossaplatz head towards Klettenberg/Universität using the left or middle lane. After crossing Barbarossaplatz on one of this lanes follow the Luxemburger Strasse.
  • Pass the street Luxemburger Wall (right hand side) and the train stop Eifelwall (left hand side).
  • Turn right into Greinstraße. In this street you will also find parking possibilities. 

Coming from Frankfurt:

  • Leave the Autobahn A3 (direction Oberhausen) at the Dreieck Heumar (28) towards A4 (direction Aachen)
  • At the exit Kreuz Gremberg (14) take A559 towards Köln-Deutz, -Kalk, Messe
  • Follow the signs to Severinsbrücke leading you on the Deutzer Ring
  • After crossing the bridge, follow the street towards Barbarossaplatz.
  • Approaching Barbarossaplatz head towards Klettenberg/Universität using the left or middle lane. After crossing Barbarossaplatz on one of this lanes follow the Luxemburger Strasse.
  • Pass the street Luxemburger Wall (right hand side) and the train stop Eifelwall (left hand side).
  • Turn right into Greinstraße. In this street you will also find parking possibilities.
