Thermogravimetric analyses are performed on a Perkin Elmer STA 6000, allowing the simultaneous detection of thermogravimetric and differential thermo analytic data between 15 °C - 1000 °C. The technique is used for the determination of thermal stability and the composition of organic-inorganic hybrid materials. Optionally the atmosphere can be changed from inert (argon) to reactive (e.g. oxygen) to analyze specific processes.
